Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The Hebrew and English versions of this document are the authoritative, legally binding versions.

Shipanza is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it. This policy applies to all users of the Shipanza platform - Senders and Drivers alike.

Shipanza operates in compliance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and any applicable regulations thereunder.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: Name, phone number, and optionally email address when you register.

Order data: Pickup and dropoff addresses, package description, delivery timestamps, and price paid.

Unfinished bookings: If you enter your name, phone number, addresses or move details in the booking form but do not complete the order, we keep what you entered so we can contact you about that move. We tell you so on the page where we first ask for these details.

Photos and video: Photos (and optionally video) you take of the load when requesting a quote, the Driver's proof-of-delivery photo, and photos a Driver may attach to a price adjustment. Driver onboarding also collects a photo of the driver's licence and, where provided, an insurance document.

Location data (Drivers only): Real-time GPS location while you are active on the platform during a delivery. Location tracking stops when you go offline.

Driver verification data: Israeli ID number, driver's license, and vehicle registration, collected during onboarding for safety verification.

Payment data: Payment is processed by a third-party provider. Shipanza stores only a transaction reference and masked card details - never your full card number.

Usage data: App interactions, device type, and error logs, used to improve the service and diagnose issues.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Matching Senders with available Drivers
  • Sending email and push notifications about your order status
  • Processing payments and calculating Driver earnings
  • Verifying Driver eligibility and maintaining platform safety
  • Investigating disputes, fraud, or violations of our Terms
  • Improving our algorithms, pricing models, and user experience
  • Complying with legal obligations under Israeli law

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

Between Senders and Drivers: Senders and Drivers communicate through the in-app chat, which opens when a Driver accepts the order and closes 24 hours after delivery. Messages are stored with the order record, and a preview of a new message may appear on your device's lock screen. When a Driver accepts an order they also receive the Sender's first name, phone number, pickup address, and the recipient's phone number; the Sender receives the Driver's first name, vehicle, rating, live location, and phone number. Phone numbers are exchanged only once a Driver has accepted - a Driver browsing open jobs never sees them - and exist as a fallback for reaching each other on the day of the move. This information is used solely to complete the move.

Service providers: We share data with trusted processors for payment handling (a licensed Israeli payment processor), transactional email, hosting and database services. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.

AI analysis of your photos: When you ask for an automatic quote, the photos you upload are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic, via the Vercel AI Gateway) which returns a suggested load size. The photos are used only to produce that suggestion, are not used to train the provider's models, and you can always review and change the result before ordering. You can skip this entirely and fill the details in by hand.

Legal requirements: We may disclose data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by Israeli law or a valid court order.

4. Location Data

Driver location is shared in real time with the matched Sender during an active delivery. This data is not stored beyond what is needed to complete the order and generate a delivery summary.

We do not track Driver location outside of active delivery sessions. Drivers can stop sharing location at any time by going offline in the app.

5. Data Retention

Active accounts: data is retained for as long as your account remains active.

Completed orders: order records - including the in-app messages exchanged about that order - are retained for 2 years to handle potential disputes and comply with tax reporting requirements.

Unfinished bookings: if you entered your details but never placed an order, we keep them for 90 days and then delete them automatically. If you later place the order, the details are kept with that order record and follow the rule above.

Deleted accounts: your account and personal data are deleted when you delete your account, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records), which are kept with your personal details removed. Anything not deleted immediately is removed within 30 days.

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from Account → Delete account in the app, or on the web at shipanza.io/account/delete. Deletion signs you out everywhere and removes your sign-in details, profile, notification tokens and uploaded photos. Completed orders are kept as financial records with your personal details stripped out (see above). We never refuse a deletion request. If a move is booked or under way, or we still owe a Driver a payout, we sign you out straight away and complete the deletion within 30 days, as soon as the move finishes or the payout clears.

6. Your Rights

Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law (5741-1981), you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@shipanza.io. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Sensitive data (ID numbers, payment references) is encrypted at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to Shipanza team members who need it to operate the service.

No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant Israeli authorities as required by law.

8. Cookies & Tracking

The Shipanza website uses minimal cookies necessary for the platform to function (session management). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

We use privacy-respecting product analytics that set no advertising cookies and do not track you across other apps or websites. On the website these run only after you accept cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
